Nesting Bowl Trio - Free!

I'm not going to lie: I *love* finding a free crochet pattern. And since I love free patterns so much, and since I write patterns, I'm compelled to offer the free pattern every now and then. :) 

The Nesting Bowl Trio is the first! It's one of the few patterns I've documented in progress, so I thought it was fitting it be first.

Finished Size – Varies

Materials

Cotton or Jute yarn in color of choice

Appropriate size hook

Scissors & Yarn Needle

To Begin,

Ch2, in first ch work...

Rnd1- 12dc around. Join with slst to first dc.

Rnd2- ch2, dc in same space. *2dc in each st around * (24 dc). Join with slst to first dc.

Rnd3- ch2, dc in same space. *1dc in next stitch, 2dc in next * around. (36dc)

Small Bowl:

Rnd4- ch2, dc back loop only in next stitch and in each around (36 dc). Join with slst to first dc.

Rnd 5- ch1, sc in same space. *Tr in next st, sc in next st * around ending with a sc (or a sl st into first sc). Fasten off

Medium Bowl:

Rnd4- ch2, dc in same sp. *dc in next 2 st, 2dc in 3^rd st. * repeat around (48 dc). Join with sl st to first dc.

Rnd5- ch2, dc in black loop only in next stitch and in each stitch around. (48dc) Join with slst to first dc.

Rnd6- *ch3, skip 2 st, sl st in next st around.

Rnd7- sl st into ch2 of 3ch loop of prev round. *Ch3, sl st into ch loop of prev round. * around. Sl st into first sl st. fasten off.

Large Bowl:

Rnd4- ch2, dc in same sp. *dc in next 2 st, 2dc in 3^rd st. * repeat around (48 dc). Join with slst to first dc.

Rnd5- ch2, dc in same sp. *dc in next 3 st, 2dc in 4^th st. * repeat around (60 dc). Join with sl st to first dc.

Rnd6- ch2, dc in black loop only in next stitch and in each stitch around. (60dc) Join with sl st to first dc.

Rnd7- ch2, dc in each around (60dc). Join with sl st to first st.

Rnd8- *ch 4, skip 3dc, sl st in 4^th st * around. Sl st into first ch st.

Rnd9- in each ch4 loop work *sc, 2hdc, sc, sl st into sl st of prev round * around. Join with sl st to first sc. Fasten off.

More Miniature!

This week I dedicated my Monday & Tuesday to more miniature crochet!

Itsy bitsy, teeny weeny, cutesy red crocheted bikini
;)

My *favorite* is the party garland. Oh- so festive and fun! And the bikini cracks me up a bit. The ear-hats are super trendy right now, and how bout that teensy little purse? And the matchy hats for twins or BFFs? Delightful!

These boogers are destined for an Ebay Auction! I'll let you know when that happens and you can make 'em yours!

Crochet ADD (WIP)

The other day I was reading an interview with Etsy's featured seller: Roots and Feathers when I saw this picture:

Okay, so I actually saw the picture first *then* read the interview (I scan the pictures first to judge if it's something I want to read). Aside from l.o.v.i.n.g her style, I really started coveting that perfect little granny-square throw draped over her chair. Gorgeous! And, being me, I started to mentally calculate how much yarn I'd need and whether I should use cotton or wool.

But, NO!
I cut the musings short, I fought the temptation to be excessive. I already *have* a blanket project.

Remember this one? It's my "Bed of Roses" blankie. It's growing and growing....

...and looking gorgeous on my bed.

I've made some tweaks to the size. 8 squares wide and 11 deep. I've also finished up a skein of each color and can now tell you that 1 skein of my red goes toward 11 roses, and 1 skein of my silver goes toward 16 squares.

In short: I'm going to need more yarn. Oh, drat. ;)

I love my rosie blanket. And I'm trying to remind myself of that when faced with temptation to put it on hold (ie, ditch it) to make a different blanket that I'll likely end up ditching. I must break the Crochet-ADD cycle!

Moo. (Hats!)

Over the weekend I took on a commissioned hat. The task: make a moo-cow hat for my neighbor's sweet daughter. The result: super cute hat for a super cute girl!

Nope, the pattern is *not* available in my shop. From my brain this pattern came and there it shall remain.

Miniature Hats!

A "lot" of 4 artisan crochet hats made by Purple Chair Crochet (that's me!). I'm not the seller, but it's cool to see your own work being showcased by someone else (Hey, isn't that what I do on my blog? What goes around comes around...).

Every now and then I'm asked for custom items. Generally I shy away from committing to something I wouldn't ordinarily make, but the past month or so I've been accepting. We'll see where it goes! If you're interested in the above hats (aren't they cuuuuuute?!) you still have 4 days left to bid! They'd make great Christmas ornaments, no? 

(Ew, did I just say "Christmas" before Halloween is even over?! I'm ashamed.)
